AR 360 Booth Video Experience in Memphis: How We Built an Immersive Art Activation for ALSAC

Cheers Photo Co., an event photo and experience company based in Memphis, TN, created a custom AR 360 Booth video experience for ALSAC at the 2026 National Training Meeting Block Party at The Kent. Guests stepped into a 3D world built from St. Jude patient art and walked away with a shareable movie in about 30 seconds. Over 200 people experienced it, and we produced nearly 100 short films in a few hours.

What ALSAC Asked Us to Build

Our client invited us to coffee to talk through an idea. He wanted to give his teammates at ALSAC something extraordinary at the 2026 ALSAC National Training Meeting Block Party, an experience that would stop people in their tracks.

He was dreaming of an AR experience featuring St. Jude patient art. We had never built anything like it. We told him we could figure it out.

The Vision: An Immersive World Made of St. Jude Patient Art

The concept was simple to describe and hard to build. Guests would step into a 3D world filled with patient art, take a spin, and leave with a movie of the moment. Every piece, from the enclosure to the software, had to be built from scratch.

Building a Custom AR Activation From Scratch in Memphis

We sourced a custom enclosure, hired a graphic artist and a software developer, and got to work. Nothing about this build was off the shelf.

Our venue, The Kent in Memphis, graciously allowed us to set up our enclosure three times so we could work out every bug before the event. Being local mattered here. Three full test builds would not have been possible if we didn’t have a great relationship with the venue.

How Does the AR 360 Booth Video Experience Work?

Guests stepped into the enclosure, filled with light and surrounded by green, and took a spin on the 360. From there, our software did the heavy lifting:

  • Captured footage at 200fps

  • Rendered and compressed the video

  • Applied slow motion and speed effects

  • Layered in the 3D background of St. Jude patient art

  • Added a soundtrack

All in about 30 seconds.

Guests could instantly view and share their creation at our Sharing Station nearby. The word we heard most that night was "wow."

The Results

In just a few hours, we produced almost 100 short movies, each one full of energy, slow motion effects, and a room full of patient art.

  • Over 200 guests experienced the AR experience firsthand

  • Nearly 100 short movies created in a few hours

  • 133 movies downloaded from our online gallery

  • Over 500 views across the gallery

Why It Worked

What started as an idea over coffee became one of the most talked-about moments of the Block Party. By combining a custom enclosure, real-time rendering, and St. Jude patient art, we gave ALSAC's team an experience that was personal, shareable, and unforgettable. The result was beyond expectation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AR 360 Booth video experience?

An AR 360 Booth video experience places guests inside a digital environment that is composited into their video or photo in real time. Instead of standing in front of a backdrop, the guest appears to be inside a 3D world. For ALSAC, that world was built entirely from St. Jude patient art.

How long does each video take to produce?

About 30 seconds from the end of the spin to a finished, shareable movie. Capture, rendering, compression, effects, background compositing, and soundtrack all happen automatically.

How many guests can go through in one event?

We produced nearly 100 movies in a few hours at the ALSAC Block Party, with over 200 guests participating. Throughput depends on group size, since multiple people can step into the enclosure at once.

Can guests share their videos right away?

Yes. A Sharing Station next to the enclosure lets guests view, download, and share their movie immediately. Everything also lives in an online gallery afterward, which drove 133 downloads and over 500 views for this event.

Do you build custom experiences for events outside Memphis?

We are based in Memphis, TN and work throughout the Mid-South including Germantown, Collierville, Southaven, Olive Branch, Oxford, and we travel. Being local to Memphis let us test the ALSAC enclosure on site three separate times before the event, which is a meaningful advantage for a first-of-its-kind build.

How far in advance should we book a custom AR activation?

Custom builds involve sourcing hardware, designing graphics, and developing software, so the earlier the better. Off-the-shelf 360 and photo booth setups can be booked on a much shorter timeline.

Plan Your Own Immersive Experience

If you are planning a corporate event, conference, or block party in Memphis and want something guests will actually talk about afterward, we would love to hear the idea. Some of our best work started as a conversation over coffee.
